This Privacy Policy explains how Ballet AI, operated by Andrea Payette (“Ballet AI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Ballet AI mobile application, website, and related services.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Ballet AI, we may collect:
- Account information: information provided through sign-in, such as your name, email address or Apple private relay address, and account identifiers.
- Profile and onboarding information: first name, age bracket, ballet level and experience, training frequency, goals, training focus, improvement challenges, aspirations, and acquisition source.
- Practice content: practice videos you choose to upload, sampled video frames, and information derived from those videos for technique analysis, including pose measurements and movement evidence.
- Training information: analyses, Technique Tier, Coaching Priority, progress information, practice plans, and Coach messages.
- Purchase information: subscription and entitlement information needed to provide Premium access. Purchases are processed by Apple; Ballet AI does not receive your payment-card details.
2. How we use information
We use information to authenticate users, provide and personalize Ballet AI, analyze supported ballet movements, generate technique feedback and practice guidance, provide Coach responses, track training progress, maintain subscription access, secure and operate the service, respond to support requests, and comply with applicable law.
3. Video and AI processing
Practice videos are uploaded to private storage associated with your account so that the service can process your selected attempt and support features such as rewatching prior attempts. Ballet AI also performs device-side video processing, including frame sampling and pose-related measurements.
For technique analysis, selected frames and relevant measurements or context may be sent through Ballet AI's service infrastructure and AI gateway to an AI model provider. The full original video is not sent to the AI model as a single video. The original video does leave your device because it is uploaded to Ballet AI's private storage.
At launch, movement-analysis requests may be processed using OpenAI models through Ballet AI's service infrastructure. The Coach feature may use Google Gemini through Ballet AI's service infrastructure. We do not state that an AI provider never retains submitted data or never uses data for model improvement unless such a guarantee applies to the service configuration in use.
4. Service providers
We use service providers to operate Ballet AI. These may include Supabase for database, private storage and server functions; Rork for authentication and service infrastructure, including an AI gateway; OpenAI for supported movement-analysis processing; Google Gemini for Coach processing; and Apple for Sign in with Apple and App Store subscriptions. Google may also be involved if Google Sign-In is offered.
5. Coach data flow
When you use Coach, Ballet AI may provide the service with your question, relevant current-analysis findings, a limited number of prior comparable analysis summaries, progress context, and recent conversation context so it can answer your question. Coach does not need the full original practice video or its private storage address to answer a text question.
6. How information is linked to you
Account information, uploaded practice content, analyses, training records, and subscription access may be linked to your Ballet AI account so the app can provide your personal history and features across sessions.
7. Sharing and advertising
We do not sell your personal information and do not use your information for third-party targeted advertising or cross-app tracking. We may share information with service providers that process it on our behalf to operate Ballet AI, or when required by law, necessary to protect rights and safety, or involved in a permitted business transaction.
8. Retention
Practice videos, account/profile information, analyses, progress records, practice plans, and Coach messages may be retained while your account remains active. Practice-video thumbnails generated for display may be handled transiently rather than stored as a separate persistent copy. We do not invent a fixed retention period where one does not apply.
9. Account deletion
Ballet AI provides an in-app account deletion option. Account deletion is designed to remove your Ballet AI profile and associated service data, including stored practice videos and related training records. Deleting your Ballet AI account does not itself cancel an App Store subscription. Subscriptions must be managed through Apple.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information, including authenticated access and private storage controls. No system can guarantee absolute security.
11. Children and age
Ballet AI is intended for people age 13 and older. People under 13 should not create or use a Ballet AI account. Ballet AI asks users to select an age bracket beginning at 13 rather than collecting a date of birth, and does not otherwise claim to verify a user's age. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected, we will take appropriate steps consistent with applicable law, which may include deletion. A parent or guardian with a concern may contact us using the address below.
12. Your choices
You may choose not to upload practice videos, may manage your App Store subscription through Apple, and may delete your Ballet AI account through the app. You may also contact us about privacy questions or requests. Rights vary by jurisdiction.
13. International users
Ballet AI is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate, subject to applicable law.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Ballet AI changes. We will post the current version at this page and update the effective date when appropriate.
